Journey towards my dream

As I embark on a new journey
Train races through the tracks
Along the green fields
With beautiful trees and flowers
While I see misty mountains , majestic stand so tall disappearing in the sky
With time ticking I am close to my destination, one step closer to my dreams.
I see people along with me on the train
Who are on their own journey too
So many faces, so many dreams
I also see children waving at train
With smile on their faces
Which in turn makes me smile
As the train hops from one station to other
More people join me in the journey
I look at the sky which has dark clouds
Racing with me, racing with train
In hurry to reach their own destination
I see people play games and sing
Enjoying every single moment of journey
My mind reminds me how life is similar to a journey and we are the passenger
While the heart says enjoy every moment
I enjoy the cold breeze around me
I make up my mind to give my best
Enjoy every little thing in life
As little things is what matters
Thus I enjoy this little journey within another big journey called life
While I hope to reach my destination and dreams soon

PUPILS’ PRESIDENT

Imagine a kid who is from small village who belongs to a poor family, supports family by selling newspapers but has a strong desire to learn. Even though he had no money it did not stop him from dreaming big. All he did was dream big and worked hard to follow his dream. His dream was to become a fighter pilot. But he missed it. That did not stop him! He goes on to become a scientist and eventually President of country.  He makes billions of people realize power of “DREAM”. Inspires them to follow their dream, work hard and make their country proud.

Does this scenario remind you of someone? Does he inspire you to reach your goal? Does his story make you believe that dreams can come true?

Yes, it is the story of none other than Bharath Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam!

Avul Pakir Jainulabadeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October 1931 in Rameshwaram. His father  was a boat owner and imam of local mosque and mother was a  housewife. Kalam was the youngest of four brothers and one sister in his family. He spent hours studying and worked especially hard on Mathematics. He had a vision to learn ; seek knowledge. He graduated in Physics in the year 1954 from St. Joseph’s College. Moved to Madras in 1955 to study Aerospace Engineering in Madras IIT. He was close enough to his dream of being fighter pilot but lost because he was qualified 9th while there were only 8 posts available in IAF.

Well known as “Missile Man” of India Dr. Kalam has contributed so much for India. He was well known for his passion and contribution to science, especially nuclear and space science. He was part of INCOSPAR committee where he worked under renowned space scientist Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. He was part of projects by ISRO like Rohini, PSLV, SLV-III. He also worked as Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minster and Secretary of Defense Research and Development Organization. He worked as a part of nuclear test. He headed the IGMDP to develop five missiles – Prithvi, Agni, Trishul, Akash, Nag. Dr. Kalam envisioned the concept of joint partnership which led to the formation of  BrahMos AeroSpace between India and Russia.  Thus his contribution to the Science field was immense.

Dr. Kalam was not just a scientist but a president, leader, contributor, teacher, author, and humanitarian. He led a simple life compared to other political leaders. He was well known as “People’s President”. He spent most of time with children during his presidency and even after presidency. He wanted to be remembered as a teacher rather than President or scientist.

Dr. Kalam Sir is among people who inspire me. The reason being he was a great teacher. His autobiography “Wings of Fire” made me believe with perseverance and zeal towards dream one can succeed. During the years when Kalam Sir was president, it always made me happy seeing him on TV or reading about him in newspapers. Those days many people did not had access to Internet. Shimoga, where I lived, had an engineering college called JNNCE (I did not know I would be study engineering in same college there after school ) who organized a camp to invite children so as to make them learn how internet can help studies, how it works. I remember we were separated into groups and made to sit in front of computers in parallel. The first thing we were guided to do was to write a letter to Kalam Sir. It was supposed to be a template made ready by organizers. All we had to do was copy paste it and write our names at end and send it. I believe most of children including me were excited that their letter would reach the President of India.

After 2 to 3 years after the computer camp Dr. Kalam even visited Shimoga. But I couldn’t be a part of it. All I could do was watch the news channels say the same and read about Kalam Sir in newspaper.

I couldn’t believe it when I heard about demise of Kalam Sir. I was like how could a person who taught India to dream leave so soon? How could a person who set a vision of “INDIA 2020” could leave before it happened! I was shell shocked so was rest of India. I couldn’t hold my tears. India had lost a very precious gem that day.

Some of quotes which I still love by Dr. Kalam are :

"Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep."

"Dream, Dream, Dream Drams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action."

"If you want to shine like sun first burn like sun."

"If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means "first Attempt In Learning"
End is not the end, if fact E.N.D. means "Effort Never Dies"
If you get No as an answer, remember N.O. means "Next Opportunity".
So Let's be positive. "

"All of us do not have equal talent. But, all of us have equal opportunity to develop our talents."

"It Is Very Easy To Defeat Someone, But It Is Very Hard To Win Someone”

Dr. Kalam did till very end what he always loved and best at , i.e. passing on knowledge to children as a teacher. He was lecturing students at Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. In an interview before so many years he said, “If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me…,”

Dr. Kalam Sir didn’t leave us in spirit, he lives in the heart of millions today. His quotes and his life still stands as an inspiration. If every Indian works towards the path he has set us, the dream of “India 2020” can be achieved.  So let’s work towards our dream, make Dr. Kalam vision true and make India Proud!

Keep Smiling J

Choice of Happiness

She made a choice
A choice to let go fears
A choice to let go sadness
Which she was enough holding on to

She made a choice
To be independent like bird
Fly towards her dreams
No matter what

She made a choice
To live happily
For rest of her life
As she was a free bird

Handle With Care

"Hi there, Have you read new novel called "-- name of book--" ?"

"Yeah , I have read it."

"Do you have the book ? Can you please lend it to me? I'l return it soon "

" Ok let me think about it. ( After thinking for while on how friend would handle the book )Here are the rules

  • Don't fold the pages or the cover of book
  • Don't mark anything on it
  • Don't even think of giving it to other friends

After so many days like month or so my friend returns the novel with folded page and cover !

That's when I decided to stop lending the books! Yeah that'a conversation between me and my friend. Novels are one of few things which I take a care about. Its like a treasure for me. If at all there is something like a device/thing which keeps books safe and new just like day I got it I'd like to buy it! I have actually kept all my novels in wardrobe safely and locked it ( No don't think about getting the key! )

Next to novel , there are few sketches I've made. Oh Yeah ! There are equally important and *handle with care* is top priority for sketches. Same applies for gadgets too. Taking care of things is like so in my blood ever since I was child I guess. Earlier it was toys though. After all, these material things are temporary in life and I know it won't last long. Finally and most important it comes to people who I'm surrounded by i.e family and friends whom I care about. ( I feel list goes long if I mention people here so it remains secret) Caring is what drives our action and helps us to accomplish better things. It must start from own , i.e self care. So love yourself , spread the love, enjoy the life!

Keep Smiling :)

The Thief

It was a night with moon shining in the sky.She could sense someone was out there as she saw a shadow behind curtain of her room. Little girl knew,it could be a thief as her mom told 'Thieves come at night time'. She saw the green eyes shine as thief broke into the house. She smiled as the thief purred "meow".

Music - Portal to world of magic

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination
and life to everything.”

― Plato

I find above lines so true. Music is something which connects with soul and helps one to soothe.Music inspires people. It helps to relieve stress. Its indeed a portal to different world. It has power to heal worst of pain.

Music has no language. It brings people from all over world together. It has power to unite people. I find it so fascinating how some tunes could pump up energy and help one to get their smile back or sometimes can make cry.

Music is part of my life. Can't spend a day without dose of music. So music happens to be daily dose.I love to hear songs while travelling, when I am free or when something worries me so much. It helps me stay calm and concentrate on work. In this blogpost I'l be mentioning songs from my playlist which are close to my heart.

Before moving on to my playlist lets take a look at refreshing music video by Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda which is combination of sensational moves and magical vocal.

I hope you enjoyed the video. So now lets take a look at my favorite songs.

1. Kal ho naa ho :
I really love this song so much. Everytime I hear this it makes me smile. Every single time! This song is composed by Shankar-Ehasaan-Loy and sung by very talented Sonu Nigam. It never fails to inspire me. Being SRK fan this song stands in number 1 spot. Lyrics of song is inspiring which says to enjoy every moment you get to the fullest before it is too late.

2.No Man Will Ever Love You, Like I Do :
This song is by very talented Raghu Dixit. I feel really proud to say he is Indian singer songwriter, producer and also film score composer from Bangalore who has made it to International level now. I really like how he give folk songs his own touch. Not just this song but all songs by him are phenomenal. I have been lucky enough to attend his live concert.

3. Coldplay - Every Teardrop is a Waterfall :
Speaking of band I am in love with Coldplay. This British rock band songs are out of world! Chris Martin who is lead singer of band sings exceptionally well which makes one jump to music. I really wish to attend concert by Coldplay someday.

4.Bhaag Milkha Bhaag  - Title track :
Fourth song in the playlist is this track by Shankar Ehasan Loy from movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which is based on life story of "flying sikh" yeah one who made India proud "Milkha Singh". The songs sung by Sidharth Mahadevan, from movie is so close to heart. Especially this song gives me goosebumps everytime I listen. It is yet another inspiring movie so as the song.

5.Mr & Mrs Ramachari - Title track
This is a kannada song sung by Tippu from movie Mr & Mrs Ramachari. Song makes one want to dance to beats. Its among my favorites.

6.Love Me Like You Do | Hosanna :
This is a cover song sung by Vidya. Ever since I heard this song Its so close to my heart that I cant get enough of the song. I really don't have words to express how Vidya has fused two songs where original version 'Love me like you do' is sung by Ellie Goulding, 'Hosanna' which is composed by India's favorite A.R Rehman. This song is a example how Music has no barriers whether its country or language. Its just pure magic.

7.Blank Space//Style (Taylor Swift Mash - Up ) - Louisa Wendroff :
Here is one more cover song by Lousia Wendroff and Devin Dawson. I am big fan of Taylor Swift. 1989 album is recent album  by Taylor which I have listened to like 500 times literally!! I cant get enough of the album. The album has two songs called Blank Space and Style which is what fused together in this Mashup. Taylor swift tweeted that she is  obsessed with this mashup. No wonder why, Lousia and David have sung it so well.

8.Ik Junoon :
This track is from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. This is one among my favorite tracks because it has got positive vibes. This is Tomatina song composed by yet again Shankar Ehasan Loy! I really wish to play tomatina everytime I hear this track.

9. OK Kanmani - Mental Manadhil :
This song is sung and composed by music mastero A.R Rehman. I wonder how A.R Rehman creates magic with each and every song because if you listen to this song i'm sure you would getup and dance. I love this song so much!!

I have like thousand songs in playlist. This 9 songs is just a glimpse to my playlist. I really can go on and on and on. I have so many songs close to heart which inspires, makes me happy everytime I hear.Life is indeed a journey and music makes it colorful. Enjoy each and every moment of life without worrying about past of future. Live the life to the fullest. That's what matters most.

I really enjoyed making this playlist. Hope you enjoyed listening to songs I mentioned. Do let me know your favorite songs in the comment section.

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
One which moves no matter along the wind
Witnessing happy and sad people underneath it

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
Which takes shape and color with time
Just like people who change with time

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
When you gaze towards tranquil blue or dark sky
Moving in silent without anything to worry

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
Which hides planets and stars behind it
Without realizing that it is part of hide and seek

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
Which shine glorious in sky with sun
And shower rains which cools mother earth

Have you ever seen how beautiful clouds are?
Which travels around the world
Spreading smiles and joy for little people underneath

Keep Smiling :)

UC browser : Surf if All ! Surf it Fast!

In India Cricket is one sport which everyone follows most. It is not just a sport but can say its  a religion in India. Here’s a blogpost how I would stay connected to game without missing out little things that make life worth while.

Internet plays major role in one's life today. It helps to connect people around the world. But connecting doesn't make it better. It has to be fast and secure at same time. With help of smart phones one is able to connect to people, browse through sites, get to learn just a click away. Browsers play a important role when it comes to accessing sites. The reason why I am saying about browser is I make use one browser which helps me to keep things updated. It’s the same browser which I’l be using to keep things updated when it comes to cricket. It is UC browser!!

Four to Five years back I had to rely on tv and news for updates on cricket. For full details of match I had to depend on news paper of next day.But now invent of smartphones and apps has made easy. Its just a click away.

UC browser has got separate corner for people who love cricket and its called UC cricket.  It helps me follow news of cricket world. Result of matches. Ball by ball detail of every match. It not only gives details of international matches but also domestic cricket.

When it comes to India and Pakistan match people go crazy. Things go like bunking classes , people leave work and go home to watch match , shops with tv will be occupied with people watching match. But everyone can’t do that. Amidst serious work and studies people choose to follow game in their own way. In such cases apps like UC browser helps to save time and keep people updated with surrounding world along with cricket.

Back in college days I remember it was time of worldcup match between India v/s Pak and everyone decided to bunk last class to go home and enjoy match. Streets look deserted. Facebook news feed was filled with scores and updates. It was indeed a great time.
UC browser has got feature which enables user watch cricket live. It wont consume much data and streams at faster rate. User can get to choose ball by ball details in text mode and follow favorite team or player. This might actually help students without bunking classes to follow cricket.

So what are you waiting for ? go grab the app from store! its available for android, iphone, windows, symbian and blackberry

For more info follow  http://www.ucweb.com/

Sunshine Award

I'm so happy that I have been nominated for sunshine awarded by my dear sister Purba Chakraborty. I want to thank you so much purba di. This is actually my second sunshine award which is equally important as first one which I got last year. Thank you for thinking that i'm eligible for this award. Feel so blessed.

For those new to my blog and dear friends Purba Chakraborty is author of two best selling novels "Walking in Streets of Love and Destiny","The Hidden Letters" content writer, blogs at "Love Laugh and Reflect",a person with good heart whom you can look up to and learn so much. Her short stories have been published in various anthologies. So as per the sunshine award rules Purba di has few interesting questions for me which i'd like to answer.

1. When did you join the blogging world? Did any incident/person inspire you to do so?
I started blogging in March 2014. Earlier I used to read blogs but din't think of writing. Preeti shenoy is one author who got me into reading books and blogs. Her books had some kind of magic so does blog. I  followed blog by Preeti on daily basis which introduced me to few more bloggers Gayatri,Jayanth. Would like to thank them as they encouraged me. I fell in love with world of blogging. This inspired me to write.

2. What is the best lesson that Life has taught you, till now?
Best lesson hmm let me think , till now Life has taught me to be strong no matter how much failure you get to face.  Live in present without thinking about past. Let go of people who don't care about you, hold on to people who love you.Live life with no regrets and most important keep smiling.

Blogging does play a major role in my life. It has made me grow as a better person. Learnt so much from blogs I follow. I don't blog much but I read more. But when I write I write from heart. Its difficult to maintain blog with studies. That's the area I need to work on.

4. If you had a time machine, would you prefer revisiting your past or visiting your future? Why?
If I had a time machine I would like to go back and read more books! I can't think other than novels these days.

5. Which is your all time favorite book that you can never get tired of reading?
All time favorite series is Harry Potter series ! if its just one book I must name then "Diary of Young girl" by Anne Frank

6. Do you believe in letting go or holding on?
Yep I do believe. As I mentioned earlier Life did teach me.This reminds me song "Holding on Letting Go" which is among my fav's.

7. Share a hilarious incident of your life.
I don't know if its hilarious or not but this thing comes to my mind first. These days I get to hear lot of compliments for my smile. But back when I was kid whenever I used to stand in front of camera and told to smile I used to do a sad face. Only in rare cases I would smile. Especially if its a studio picture I never smiled ! I found it hilarious when I checked album.Maybe you will get an idea if I show the pics and here it is

What if I get Lays ? I wont smile !

Should I smile ?

me with my sister! that's how bad a studio photo can get!

Maybe first group photo I had and I am not smiling!

I wont smile yes!

When I smile here it is say cheeeeeeeeeeeeese !
